17 November 2017 — Canberra, ACT.

The Network of Argentine Scientists in Australia (RACAus) was formally established on 17 November 2017, at a meeting held at the residence of the Argentine Ambassador in Canberra. Seventeen scientists and researchers from different Australian cities and academic institutions attended in person, and fourteen more joined by teleconference.

The Network is one of the Networks of Argentine Researchers and Scientists Abroad, promoted by the Argentine Government's RAICES Program. It is governed by a statute and led by a Scientific Coordinator, supported by an advisory committee that represents the four main fields of knowledge.

Membership is free and open to Argentine adults living in Australia who work, or have worked, as researchers, scientists, technologists or highly qualified professionals.
