The Network joins a Latin American science round table at ANU

Network coordinator Silvana Della Penna spoke on the panel at "Ties of Mexico and Latin America in Canberra" at the Australian National University, attended by Argentina's Ambassador.
On Friday 29 May, the Innovation Theatre at the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra hosted a milestone for the Latin American scientific community in Oceania. Red Global MX's Australia Chapter, together with the ANU Latin American Students Association (LASA ANU), organised "Ties of Mexico and Latin America in Canberra", a day of talks, a round table and networking.
The round table "From Connection to Collaboration: value as a driving force", moderated by Dr Jorge Gálvez (Mexico, Senior HPC Specialist, National Computational Infrastructure, ANU), included Dr Silvana L. Della Penna, Coordinator of the Network of Argentine Scientists in Australia. She shared the panel with Emeritus Professor Quentin Grafton (Australia, Laureate Fellow and UNESCO Chair in Water Economics, ANU), Dr Yusuen Ley Cooper (Mexico, Senior Geophysicist, Geoscience Australia) and Dr Alejandro Pacheco (Ecuador, Data Analytics for Public Policy and Asia-Pacific Business, University of Canberra). The Network's participation reflected the active role the Argentine scientific community plays in building bridges between the Latin American diaspora and Australian institutions.

The event was also attended by Argentina's Ambassador to Australia, Máximo Eduardo Gowland, alongside other diplomats from the region — a sign of Argentina's official interest in strengthening ties with its professionals living in Oceania.
